A post-mortem carried out on journalist Ibrahim Foday on Tuesday shows that he died of stab wounds.
Chief Pathologist Dr Owis Koroma, who carried out the autopsy that lasted some ninety minutes, said the knife was lodged into his right back which severed his lungs and went deep to touch his chest.
Ibrahim Foday aged thirty-eight and a reporter working for the daily Exclusive Newspaper, was killed on Sunday Twelfth June around Grafton in the outskirts of Freetown, during a riot between residents of Grafton and Kossoh Town over a land disputed by the two communities, which the journalist was apparently covering.
SLAJ has strongly condemned the killing calling on the police to speedily bring the perpetrators to justice.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Freetown East, Mustapha Kamara has told SLAJ that the headman of Kossoh Town, Victor Haffner has been arrested in connection with the killing of the journalist, while a manhunt is underway to arrest his driver known only as Tunday.
The Ministry of Lands, Country Planning and Environment has also condemned what it described as an unfortunate incident that led to the death of Ibrahim Foday.
